- Bring a backpack/day bag or find someone who’s willing to be your pack aminal (sic) (see also Packing)
- Pack some anti-bacterial hand gel (it may be difficult to find a place to wash your hands on the go) (see also Packing)
- When you find a restroom, use it. Public restrooms can be few and far between
- Don't try and see everything on the first day; pace yourself or risk getting burned out
- Walk with your bags to the inside of the group (away from street)
- Carry small amount of money in pocket for street-item purchases and the rest in your wallet
- Safety in numbers
- Travel in groups of three or more
- Women, if possible, permissible, practical, etc. travel with a male escort
- Protect your valuables
- men: wallet in front pocket
- women: purse/handbag to the inside of the group/sidewalk
- Blend in
