- Bring your student ID, it’ll get you into museums for a reduced fare
- Bring sunscreen, sunglasses
- Tipping
- Restaurants: most add a 15% service fee automatically, so tipping is 5%-10% (depending on service) is sufficient if service is deserving; I often just round up the bill to the next whole Euro
- Cabs: 10% (though Italians rarely tip them)
- Bathrooms: often there is an attendant whom you must pay to pee
- Blu-Rays and DVDs have a different code in Europe and may not play on your home player
